Funzi is a startup founded in 2014 that solves the global problem of people not having access to learning. We deliver quality learning for people all around the globe, and we do it for free: we want learning to be totally free for the end user. Our mobile learning service(www.funzi.mobi) works on all connected mobile phones even on those old Nokia feature phones as long as the phone has an internet connection and a web browser. Funzi doesnot have an in-house tech team at the moment, instead we’ve outsourced tech development to a local vendor. We’re now taking the first steps to bring more technical expertise in-house as well, while sll working together with the vendor too.

To be an outstanding developer at Funzi you need to:

●Be self-directed and able to work efficiently even without larger technical team around you

●Have good skills in web frontend development practices and languages, preferably focused on mobile specifically

●Have at least a good understanding of different backend frameworks and languages, preferably Node.js, PostgreSQL and Heroku environment. Skills and experience in this area is considered a plus.

●Be a good communicator who has the ability to present technical solutions clearly also to non-technical team members

●Be familiar with all aspects of modern product development process from product planning to implementation and usage analysis

●Have existing work experience as a software developer

●Have excellent written and spoken English (company language)

Example profiles:

-RF-Engineer: Basics of radio-technology, has made circuit boards, knows the basic tools in RF-simulation (ex.g. CST)

-Electronics engineer: Basics of electronics, has built their own projects (arduino, beaglebone), knows some basic tool for circuit board drawing

-FPGA programmer: Basics in programming, knows VHDL/Verilog, has had own FPGA-projects, understands signal processing theory

-Embedded programmer: Basics in programming, C , experience with Texas Instruments tools (Code Composer Studio), basics in electronics (knows how to read block diagrams if needed)

-Mechanical engineer: Capable of using CAD (we use AutoCAD inventor), basic understanding in mechanical design, enthusastic about building with own hands.

-Software engineer: Unix, C , Python, GitHub - stack . In programming we have a lot of hardware inte**ces - other than that nothing that a basic level coder can’t handle (and he/she gets to create software for a satellite!)

-Image analytics: Convolutional Neural Networks -basics (Caffe, Torch ...), some previous project on neural networks

-Image processing: Basics in signal processing, background in math, C basics, understands Unix-servers and some AWS-cloud-architecture

At Umbra we work with the very foundations of 3D graphics, the representation of the geometry itself, and are building a set of tools that enable displaying arbitrarily large 3D scenes on any platform. We are seeking seasoned veterans, propeller hat scientists and enthusiastic students to join us and to be part of the team that will change the world of 3D graphics.

We are looking for a Junior Programmer that can work on all kinds of coding tasks. We mean coding too, not ** coffee or fixing the printer. Programming tools, creating demos and doing cool stuff to impress our jaded engineers. You gotta be hungry for this one!
